Don Ridgway Montgomery

Don Ridgway Montgomery, 78-year-old lifetime Vinita resident, passed away at his home in Vinita with his family at his side on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born in Vinita March 17, 1940 to H.L. and Betty (Ridgway) Montgomery. Don was a 1958 graduate of Vinita High School and attended Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University. He served in the United States Navy from September 13, 1960 until October 30, 1964. Don married Beverly Nail, of Vinita on December 30, 1966. He managed the family business, D & M Clothiers for several years until it closed and then he worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 12 years, retiring in 2001. He was a very kind and loving husband, father, and Papaw. Don will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Don in death are his parents, grandparents, brothers, Tom and John Montgomery, and his grandson Grayson Ledford. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Beverly (Nail) Montgomery, daughters Jillian Ledford of Tulsa, Susan Thompson and husband Justin of Austin, Texas, grandchildren, Paisley Ledford, Griffin Thompson, Leah Thompson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Don Montgomery will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma with his nephew, Jason Montgomery, of Edmond officiating.
