Judith Karen (Bowers) Johnston

September 5, 1941 — November 18, 2016

Arnold Moore & Neekamp - Judith Karen Johnston, 75, resident of Bartlesville, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Friday, November 18th, 2016. Karen was born on September 5, 1941 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the daughter of J. Robert (Bob) Bowers and Nellie J. Bowers. She spent her childhood in Bartlesville and graduated from College High in 1959. She furthered her education studying art at both the University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University. She was married to K. Michael Clark on June 9, 1962 in Bartlesville, and had six children: Tyler, Kyle, Shawn, Thad, Sean and Cameron. After her first marriage ended, she was re-married to H. Dee Johnston on May 16, 2008. She grew up in the First Christian Church and later converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her church faithfully in many callings for the adults and youth. She had an enormous, infectious personality and loved to be with others. Her presence never went unnoticed and her personality always seemed to fill the room. She loved the arts, gardening and decorating, and she helped many friends with suggestions and consulting to improve their homes and gardens. Karen had a special fondness for the mountains of New Mexico, and she traveled there as often as she was able. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons Dustin Kyle and Kevin Shawn who passed prematurely and a sister, Kathryn Louise Bowers. Survivors include her children, W. Tyler Clark and his partner Derek of Innsbré
