Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home - Grove - 918-786-2261.... Stephen Myles Loper, 69 year old Afton, Oklahoma resident, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri. Stephen was born in Oklahoma City on January 28, 1950 to Myles and Maurine (Stone) Loper. In August of 1981 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Melton. He worked for numerous years as a teacher. Stephen enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting things, and coaching, watching, and playing baseball, softball, and football. Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn of the home, children: Kevin Charries and wife Belinda of Ben Lomond, California and Jennifer Everett and husband David of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, sisters: Deena Yates of Mustang, Oklahoma and Janice Mayo of New Castle, Oklahoma, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Snyder Oklahoma with Pastor Nick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Krieger Cemetery in Cooperton, OK. Services are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home.
